Annapurna
Overview
A classic trek which encircles Annapurna Massif, crossing over the highest point at Thorong la (pass) 5415m, reaching at the edge of Tibetan plateau. Since the Besisahar connects with Manang by a dirt road which passes through trekking trails most of the time, taking a drive by 4wheel jeep is more sensible to avoid walking on the dirt road and getting dirty and dusty. The journey from Kathmandu is broken at Besisahar and then continues the second day to Koto from where the trek actually begins. To allow enough time for acclimatisation, trek continues slowly giving required amount of time to your body to get adjusted with the altitude. Inclusion of some high altitude lakes such as Ice lake from Bragga and Tilicho Lake from Manang add value and variation to this trek besides crossing the high pass at Throng la and visiting Muktinath temple, sacred temple of lord Vishnu for Hindu and Buddhist both. It is believed that one gets liberation (moksh) by visiting this temple!
