Day-by-Day Itinerary

A detailed breakdown of your adventure

Day 1: Arrive in Kathmandu
Land at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu. You will be warmly met at the arrivals terminal and transferred directly to the team hotel. Spend the afternoon resting after your long-haul flight, strolling through the lively markets of Thamel, or completing any last-minute gear rentals. Gather in the evening for a comprehensive pre-trek briefing with your expedition leader.
Day 2: Drive Kathmandu to Dharapani via Besisahar
We leave Kathmandu early in the morning for a long but deeply scenic drive. Following the winding Trishuli and Marsyangdi rivers, we pass lush terraced hillsides and rural highway towns to reach Besisahar. From here, we switch over to a sturdy four-wheel-drive vehicle to tackle the rugged, canyon-carved mountain road, officially entering the Annapurna region at the village of Dharapani.
Day 3: Trek Dharapani to Chame
 Our foot journey begins. The trail winds steadily upward through dense pine, oak, and rhododendron forests, tracking the roaring Marsyangdi River. We pass through traditional Tibetan-style villages like Bagarchhap and Timang—where, on a clear day, the snow-capped peak of Manaslu ($8,163\text{m}$) breaks into view. We finish the day in Chame, the administrative headquarters of the Manang District, framed by views of Lamjung Himal.
Day 4: Trek Chame to Pisang
Today, the landscape begins its dramatic transformation. We walk through a narrow, forested valley until we cross a suspension bridge to face the staggering Paungda Danda—a curved, seamless wall of solid rock rising over 1,500 meters smoothly out of the riverbed. As we crest the ridge, the valley opens up wide, welcoming us into the dry alpine air of Upper Pisang.
Day 5: Trek Pisang to Manang
We strongly recommend taking the high scenic route through Upper Pisang today via the traditional villages of Ghyaru and Ngawal. While physically demanding, it offers unparalleled, eye-level panoramas of Annapurna II, III, and IV, and assists massively with high-altitude acclimatization. The trail descends back to the valley floor, passing ancient chortens and prayer walls before entering the medieval Tibetan outpost of Manang.
Day 6: Acclimatization and Active Rest Day in Manang
A vital, mandatory rest day to allow your lungs to adapt to the thin air before pushing towards 5,000 meters. We stay active to stimulate oxygen absorption, taking a short, steep hike up to the Chonkor Viewpoint to look out over the brilliant icefall of Gangapurna Lake, or visiting the high-altitude clinic run by the Himalayan Rescue Association (HRA) for an informative talk on mountain safety.
Day 7: Trek Manang to Yak Kharka
Leaving the main valley behind, the trail turns sharply north toward the Thorong La. We make a gradual, slow climb out of the Marsyangdi valley, crossing the Jarsang Khola. Trees disappear entirely from the landscape, replaced by sparse alpine scrub, juniper bushes, and vast pastures where herds of blue sheep and yaks graze. We keep our pace slow and steady to prevent altitude sickness, concluding a short day at Yak Kharka.
Day 8: Trek Yak Kharka to Thorong Phedi
Another intentionally brief trekking day designed to conserve energy for the pass crossing tomorrow. We follow a gentle path along the mountain face before descending to a wooden suspension bridge. After navigating a short, narrow section prone to scree slides, we arrive at Thorong Phedi (the foot of the pass). Strong, well-acclimatized trekkers may choose to push up another 45 minutes to Thorong High Camp (4,880m) to shorten the next morning's grueling climb.
Day 9: Cross Thorong La Pass (5,416m) to Muktinath
The absolute pinnacle of the expedition. We wake up long before dawn, around 4:00 AM, pacing ourselves up the steep switchbacks in the biting alpine cold. Guided by headlamps and the slow cadence of your breathing, you will traverse a surreal world of rock, snow, and ice. Standing at the crest of Thorong La Pass (5,416m) amidst thousands of fluttering prayer flags is an unforgettable victory. We enjoy a hot drink at the top before making a long, steep, 1,600-meter descent down into the stark, dry landscapes of Mustang, arriving at the holy pilgrimage site of Muktinath.
Day 10: Trek Muktinath to Jomsom via Kagbeni
In the morning, we explore the sacred temple grounds of Muktinath, revered by both Hindus and Buddhists alike for its 108 stone waterspouts and eternal flame. From here, we walk through an arid, wind-swept desert landscape with magnificent, distant views of Dhaulagiri. We drop into the ancient, narrow alleys of Kagbeni—the historic gateway to Upper Mustang—before following the wide, flat, and famously breezy Kali Gandaki riverbed down to the market town of Jomsom.
Day 11: Fly Jomsom to Pokhara
We catch a thrilling, early morning flight out of Jomsom. The aircraft weaves directly down the Kali Gandaki Gorge—the deepest canyon in the world—with the massive walls of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri rising straight up on either side of the wings. Touch down in lakeside Pokhara by breakfast. Spend a blissful afternoon treating yourself to wood-fired pizza, massage therapies, or a relaxed boat ride on Phewa Lake.
Day 12: Buffer Day in Pokhara (or Overland Drive)
This serves as a critical buffer day built into the itinerary in case high mountain winds delay the morning flights out of Jomsom. If flights proceed smoothly on Day 11, this day is yours to enjoy at leisure. You can take a morning taxi up to the World Peace Pagoda for a stunning view of the lake, visit the International Mountain Museum, or simply relax.
Day 13: Drive Pokhara back to Kathmandu
We board our private tourist coach or jeep for the return journey back along the Prithvi Highway to Kathmandu. The route winds back alongside the white-water rapids of the Trishuli River. Arriving in Kathmandu by late afternoon, check back into your hotel for a long-awaited hot shower and a clean change of clothes.
Day 14: At Leisure in Kathmandu
A final, well-deserved rest and exploration day in the capital. Spend your time wandering the ancient stone courtyards of Kathmandu Durbar Square, spinning the prayer wheels at the towering Boudhanath Stupa, or gathering together with your guide and teammates for a grand farewell dinner to celebrate your successful circumnavigation of the Annapurna range.
Day 15: Fly Home
Your grand Himalayan loop concludes today. We arrange a private, scheduled transfer to take you directly to Tribhuvan International Airport to align with your international flight home.
