Overview

Langtang valley lies north of Kathmandu in Langtang National park, established in 1976. Human impact is limited but not absent as permanent local villages exist in the valley and they actively help maintain the biodiversity and ecology of the park. Rich in flora and fauna, mesmerising rhododendron and bamboo forests, meadows and pastures, breathtaking waterfalls and surrounded by snow capped Langtang Himals, this valley offers a convenient access from Kathmandu  to the adventurers for a beautiful trekking holiday!

Furthermore, its extension to Gosainkunda (fresh water lake) at 4380m and crossing over a pass of 4610m makes this trek more rewarding. The lake is delineated as a religious site, Hindu mythology attributes the lake as the abode of the Hindu deities Shiva and Gauri. The lake remains frozen for about 6 months from October onwards, the famous Trisuli river originates from this lake.
