Overview

This trek takes you to the bottom of the third highest mountain in the world, Kanchenjunga 8586m, lies in the far east of Nepal bordering Sikkim, India. Comparatively, the Kanchenjunga base camp trek is more remote and not so busy, however it offers a genuine trekking experience. The trail passes through the beautiful villages and monasteries, surrounded by stunning towering snow capped peaks. The pristine beauty of this area awestrucks the people who trek here!

Itinerary

  • Day 1 : Fly to Bhadrapur (45 min) & drive (8-9 hours) to Taplejung. 1820 m

  • Day 2 : Mitlung 921 m (4 hours)

  • Day 3 : Chirwa 1270 m (6 to 7 hours)

  • Day 4 : Sekathum 1576m (6-7 hours)

  • Day 5 : Amjilosa 2308m ( 6 hours)

  • Day 5 : Ghyabla 2730m (6-7 hours)

  • Day 6 : Gunsa 3595m (7 hours)

  • Day 7 : Gunsa - acclimatisation day

  • Day 8 : Kambachen 4050m (6 hours)

  • Day 9 : Lhonak 4780m ( 5 hours)

  • Day 10 : Kanchanjunga North BC 5143m - Lhonak ( 7-8 hours)

  • Day 11 : Gunsa 3595m ( 8 hours)

  • Day 12 : Sele la phedi 4480m ( 7 hours)

  • Day 13 : Tseram 3870m - crossing over Sinon la 4646m ( 8 hours)

  • Day 14 : Ramche 4580m ( 4-5 hours)

  • Day 15 : Tseram - hike to Oktang/South BC and back 4730 m( 8 hours)

  • Day 16 : Torongdin ( 5 hours) 2995 m

  • Day 17 : Yamphudin ( 5 hours)2080m

  • Day 18 : Khesewa (6 - 7 hours) 1915m

  • Day 19 : Lalikharka ( 5 hours) 1200m

  • Day 20 : Taplejung ( 4-5 hours) 1600m

  • Day 21 : Drive to Bhadrapur ( 4 hours drive) & fly back to Kathmandu
