Ama Dablam

The Jewel of the Himalayas

The Ama Dablam Expedition

Commonly described as one of the most beautiful mountains in the world, Ama Dablam (6,812m) is a true mountaineer’s peak. Rising above the Khumbu Valley, its name translates to “Mother’s Necklace,” referring to the hanging glacier (the Dablam) that resembles a traditional pendant. Unlike the endurance-based 8,000m peaks, Ama Dablam demands technical skill, offering exhilarating climbing on granite under the shadow of Everest.

At Nepal Skyline Adventures, we recognize that Ama Dablam is a technical masterpiece. Our expedition focuses on precision—using high-quality fixed ropes and elite climbing Sherpas who know every crack and slab of the Southwest Ridge. From the airy traverses of the Mushroom Ridge to the steep ice of the summit slopes, we provide the safety net you need to focus on the climb of a lifetime.

Further Information

Ama Dablam is situated in the heart of the Everest region, providing breathtaking views of Lhotse, Makalu, and Cho Oyu. The climb is famous for its three distinct camps, with Camp II perched precariously on a narrow rock pillar, offering one of the most spectacular camping spots in the world.

Our approach emphasizes a slow trek through the Sherpa heartland of Namche Bazaar and Pangboche to ensure perfect acclimatization. With Nepal Skyline Adventures, you are supported by a legacy of logistical excellence. We provide a 1:1 Sherpa-to-Client ratio on the technical sections and a Base Camp experience that features fresh organic food and medical-grade safety equipment.
